It was truly a magical event and to see everyone again (or for the first time) was evident of the compassion and welcoming spirit this city offers. Meet Fardowsa. This is her first season working for our Client Intake Team, including her first time decorating a Christmas tree…ever! “I’m originally from Somalia and we don’t celebrate much where am from. It felt exciting and comforting to have the chance to do something I’d never done before - and be brave enough to do. It means inclusion, it means being apart of something bigger than myself, and being brave to try something new and celebrate with my coworkers. I can also go home and try to share the experience with my son who never celebrated Christmas as well. This was a memory I will remember for the rest of my life.” So, if you’re currently sitting at work or school and just not in the holiday spirit yet - just remember Fardowsa and how one (new) act of kindness can bring so much joy!

They say Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but for some it can bring mixed emotions and feelings.
