After years of planning and hard work, we are proud to announce we've reached a huge milestone for our Advanced Metering Infrastructure project - the installation phase! Starting on September 16, we will begin installing nearly 38,000 new, advanced electrical meters at homes and businesses across New Westminster. The City of New Westminster is proud to announce local recipients of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Youth Climate Action Fund, delivered in partnership with United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and @publicinno. Up to a total of $50,000 USD is available for distribution via microgrants to support New Westminster’s youth in completing a variety of climate initiatives that are aligned with the City’s Seven Bold Steps for Climate Action; to date, seven projects will receive funding this fall. The proposed projects of the successful applications align with the City’s climate priorities, are sustainable, and will have a positive impact for New Westminster.
