  • 💜 Today is International Day for People Impacted by Suicide Loss (IDPISL). On this day, we come together to remember our loved ones, share stories of loss, and foster a sense of community and hope. The experience of losing someone to suicide is unique and profound. Knowing what to say or how to help someone coping with this type of loss can be daunting, but don’t let the fear of saying or doing the wrong thing prevent you from reaching out to people impacted by suicide loss. Visit our website for suggestions on how to offer support: https://lnkd.in/gt5meyDr Together, we can support one another on this journey. 💜

  • 🏠 Today is National Housing Day 🏠 Housing is a BASIC HUMAN NEED and crucial for good mental health. In Canada, housing is “affordable” if it costs less than 30% of a household’s income, but it includes more than just government-subsidized rentals. It also covers private, public, and non-profit housing, across rental, ownership, and co-op models. Through Project H.O.P.E., we help Nova Scotians in Kings, Annapolis, and Digby Counties who are homeless or at risk of homelessness find and maintain safe, sustainable and affordable housing. Find out more at https://lnkd.in/g4T8acjs and join us in advocating for housing as a human right. 🏡 Share this post, spread awareness, and support our efforts to ensure everyone has access to a safe, affordable home. #NationalHousingDay

  • 🌈 On November 20, CMHA Nova Scotia Division stands in solidarity with the transgender community to honour the lives of those lost to violence. Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is a poignant reminder of the need for advocacy and action in creating a safer, more inclusive world. Transgender individuals face significant challenges, including heightened risks of chronic physical and mental health issues, discrimination, and everyday transphobia. These realities can lead to social isolation and hinder access to essential healthcare. At CMHA Nova Scotia Division, we are committed to championing mental health and embracing diversity. Together, let’s work towards a compassionate world where everyone is valued and supported. #TDOR #TransDayOfRemembrance #StandWithTrans #MentalHealthMatters
