📢 CookUnity Acquires Cookin! 🚀 I’m excited to share that CookUnity has acquired Cookin Inc., a platform designed to empower food creators to become entrepreneurs. This acquisition is a key milestone in our long-term masterplan to create an ecosystem that will transform the future of food and position CookUnity to become the world's leading food creators marketplace. Cookin’s platform, which supports over 1,900 chefs across 40 U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces, combined with CookUnity’s resources, is a powerful combination. Now, every food creator can start or scale a food business seamlessly, whether from their homes or from our state-of-the-art kitchens, leveraging the most powerful culinary stack in the world. This acquisition accelerates our efforts to create a platform that empowers chefs, improves the consumer experience, and shapes the future of food. We’re building a platform that will redefine the food industry and empower creators for years to come. When I met Cookin's founders, Morley Ivers and Michael Baruch, more than a year ago, it was clear that we were building the same vision for the future with different solutions. We all care deeply about accelerating this mission, and we couldn't let this opportunity pass. A huge thank you to the entire Cookin team, our investors, and everyone who’s been part of this journey. The best is yet to come!

Co-Founder & CEO @ Cookin | Platform Enabling Food Creators to be Entrepreneurs

📢 Cookin has been acquired! Nearly three years ago, we set out to build Cookin Inc., our venture aimed at reimagining and revolutionizing the future of food for the benefit of chefs and eaters alike. Cookin represents my life's work, a platform designed to empower food creators to become entrepreneurs and to realize our societal vision, "United by Food." Cookin has been wholly acquired by New York-based CookUnity, a premium, chef-made subscription meal delivery platform that connects top chefs with discerning consumers seeking restaurant-quality meals delivered to their doorstep. This game-changing partnership accelerates our shared mission and will transform the future of our industry. Last summer, I met Mateo Marietti, founder of CookUnity. We immediately recognized the powerful synergy between our visions and the vast potential of combining our strengths. Together, we represent an unparalleled ecosystem that will make the food industry better, forever. How we got here: 1. We launched and scaled Toronto’s first homemade food delivery marketplace, connecting private chefs with over 100,000 local food lovers through the Cookin app. 2. We built Cookin’s SaaS platform, which empowers over 1,900+ chefs in 40 U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces to create thriving food businesses. 3. Alongside incredible partners like American Express Canada, we’ve enabled chefs to host cooking classes, drops, and experiences. What’s next: 1. We will launch “Ingredients Club,” ✨ enabling Cookin chefs to access wholesale food supplies by leveraging CookUnity’s buying power. This distinguishes Cookin as the world’s only platform that combines all the chef’s technology with access to wholesale food. 2. We will launch CookUnity’s model in Toronto 🚀, establishing Canada as the first international expansion city for CookUnity and enabling exponential new earning opportunities for Toronto’s most talented chefs. (Based on the first few chefs who have already committed, I can assure you that Toronto’s in for a treat!) Thank you to my family, especially Celeste Ivers, my partner Michael Baruch (and Tammy Baruch), David Senior, and the rest of our incredible Cookin team. This milestone would not have been possible without our investors, including Relay Ventures (Alex Baker), Mistral Ventures (Pablo Srugo), and Sobeys (Doug Nathanson), as well as our investor-advisors: Mark Cohon, Noah Glass, Howard Grosfield, Benjamin Gross, Jodi Kovitz, Leen, Chef Patrick Kriss, Ben Leventhal, and Matthew Tucker.   We are especially grateful to our incredible community of Cookin chefs—this is for you. 🥰 Congratulations to everyone and thank you! Cookin’s journey continues; we are building, and nothing could be sweeter for a life’s work entrepreneur.💗 https://lnkd.in/gXgdywA7 #FutureOfFood #Acquisition #Cookin #CookUnity #ChefsEmpowered

🎉 Celebrating with My Premium Feijoada – A Taste of Home and Heart 🎉 Feijoada has always held a special place in my heart. For those who may not know, feijoada is a traditional Brazilian stew made with black beans, a variety of meats, and rich, comforting flavors. My premium version is crafted with only high-quality pork meat, bringing out the best in every bite. With my birthday coming up this week, I wanted to give back to my clients in a meaningful way. So, for the first time in four years, I made my Premium Feijoada available for pre-order, delivering it on Sunday, the perfect day to enjoy this classic Brazilian comfort food. It was a one-time event, a celebration to share my love for feijoada and connect with each of you. The response was amazing! We sold more than expected, and the feedback was overwhelming. People shared how delicious it was and called it “divine.” Thank you to everyone who made this experience so special. Sharing my passion and bringing a taste of Brazil to your tables means the world to me.

The facts are in front of us: We’re witnessing a resurgence of interest in home-cooked food and a rise in independent micro-food entrepreneurs. Two recent articles from The New York Times spotlight how innovative home kitchen businesses are thriving alongside the growing popularity of food sales on platforms like Facebook Marketplace, which enables home cooks to reach eager customers. However, a recent report from Forbes suggests that traditional home cooking might be declining, indicating a concerning trend where home-cooked meals could become a thing of the past (http://bit.ly/4fnm8P2). Despite this, people still yearn for the comfort of dining at home and sharing meals with loved ones. Instead of cooking themselves, they are increasingly bringing restaurant experiences into their homes. At Cookin Inc., we believe that home-cooked meals carry a personal and meaningful touch that connects us to our roots and each other. More and more people are looking to build their home businesses, taking this culinary passion from their kitchens to the community. We are dedicated to ensuring that the essence of home cooking remains vibrant and relevant. Independent chefs and micro-food entrepreneurs are the true champions of sustaining this tradition. That’s why we’ve built a platform that empowers these talented individuals, providing them with the tools they need to succeed, and chefs love it! *Food creators can sell like pros with Cookin’s powerful tools. *Independent chefs operate their kitchens solo while managing orders, customers, and deliveries effortlessly. *Small business owners can scale operations without scaling expenses, spending less time managing their kitchen space and more time cooking. *Occasional food sellers have the flexibility they need: from special drops to pop-ups, they can handle occasional food sales effortlessly with one simple tool. Every essential feature, one simple platform. https://lnkd.in/gmXqAP-X #HomeCooking #MicroEntrepreneurship #Cookin #FoodInnovation #SupportLocal
