At COSTI, we are proud to turn these values into action. Our programs help newcomers overcome challenges, find meaningful work, and integrate into Canadian society, overcoming systemic barriers and fostering empowerment. From youth workshops and networking events to the Women in Tech program that helps women start careers in IT, our initiatives open doors to equitable opportunities. COSTI recently released a blueprint to support immigrant, refugee, and racialized women facing gender-based violence. Neighbours, Friends and Families (NFF) is a campaign funded by the Government of Ontario, in partnership between the @Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women & Children and a team of experts, activists, and professionals in the Gender-Based Violence field. IRER women face unique vulnerabilities like cultural barriers, precarious immigration status, and limited support networks. They need culturally responsive and comprehensive support to overcome these challenges.
