The Creative Green Tools are designed to help organizations estimate their carbon emissions, and the question of if and how to offset those emissions is a frequent topic of conversation in the sector. This anonymous survey is intended to gauge arts and culture organizations' interest in having access to carbon offset products that align with their values. How was the publishing tool developed? The new "Publishing" footprint option in the CG Tools is a simplified version of the life cycle analysis (LCA) found in The Book Carbon Footprint Calculator 1.0. This original calculator was created through a collaboration between New Society Publishers and ECW Press. With their support, we adapted the calculator to make it Creative Green Tools Canada | Outils Creative Green Canada friendly. Their guidance was invaluable throughout this process. How can the new editorial publishing tool help you? The Publishing Tool enables users to evaluate and compare the carbon footprint of different scenarios associated with their choices of materials, and different types of transportation for production and distribution. Users can also explore other footprinting options within the CG Tools to assess the carbon footprint of their book tours and office operations. The tool also allows users to input custom emissions that they may have received from a LCA (lifecycle footprint analysis) to keep everything in one place. ____ Comment le nouvel outil de publication éditoriale peut-il vous aider ? Dear Creative Green Tools Canada Users, We want to inform you of an upcoming, temporary disruption in service that may affect your access to support for the platform. Due to delays in the disbursement of funds that have been allocated for the ongoing maintenance and development of Creative Green Tools Canada, there may be interruptions in platform availability and support services starting from Monday, September 30, 2024, until we receive the delayed funds. While the necessary funding has been approved by our partners, the transfer process has unfortunately been delayed. We have worked diligently to manage these delays internally, but we’ve now reached a point where it is unavoidable. We are in close communication with our funders, who are aware of the urgency of the situation, and we are hopeful that the issue will be resolved.
