Looking back to when we created custom inset floor coverings for the d|bar inside Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Toronto in collaboration with DIALOG. Crafted in Thailand, these floor coverings reveal a striking pattern of textured lines woven from a blend of 11 colours in wool and silk. The bold, contrasting tones interplay beautifully, echoing the delicate blush of the seating and the surrounding design elements. The natural texture complements the luxurious marble floors and rich wood finishes, while the lines harmonize with the elegant curves of the furniture. Our expanded Vista Rug Collection is featured in Azure Magazine! Earlier, we revealed the expansion of our Vista Collection at COVER Connect New York with the addition of 7 new designs. The Vista Collection draws inspiration from cityscapes, landscapes and mid-century modern aesthetics, handmade in Afghanistan using the Persian knot technique and local Ghazni wool. The pure white Ghazni yarn readily absorbs natural dyes, resulting in rich, vibrant colours. This expansion introduces both new patterns and colourways for existing motifs, further enhancing the collection's versatility. During our recent Art Day, we experimented with yarn winding, delving into the relationships between colour, texture and composition. By physically winding the yarn, we created a tangible piece that allowed us to visualize how different colours and fibres interact, offering insight into design possibilities. This process is a creative exercise and a tool for refining our design approach. It enables us to experiment with various yarns, textures and tones, helping to achieve the perfect balance and harmony in our final products. This technique ensures that every design we create is thoughtfully crafted with attention to detail, from the initial concept to the finished piece. #CreativeMatters #ArtDay #CreativeProcess #Yarn

Such an honour to be able to share the lessons learned over 10 years of The Campaign for Wool in Canada - The Canadian Wool Council with the global wool industry here at the International Wool Textile Organisation’s Roundtable in Istanbul as part of a panel on Wool Advocacy. Was great to share the stage with Wool in School Founder Lorna McCormack MSc and Campaign for Wool’s global COO Peter Ackroyd. Stay tuned in the early new year for our Canadian industry debrief and to hear from other members of our Canadian delegation here in Turkey including Board Member and IWTO Wool Interiors Chair Carol Sebert and our Deputy Head of Delegation and researcher Jane Underhill.

Water stewardship is a top priority for us, as it plays an essential role in our floor covering production process. Recognizing the significant impact the textile industry can have on water resources, we are dedicated to sustainable practices that reduce our footprint. At our mill in Thailand, which produces most of our handtufted floor coverings, two rainwater ponds were constructed to capture up to 3,580,000 liters of water from the public supply. The mill treats its used water with an organic compound, avoiding harsh chemicals and instead of returning excess water to the city sewage system, it pumps it out to nearby farms. This initiative not only conserves valuable water resources but also contributes positively to the local agricultural community. For more on our sustainability commitment, read our sustainability report: https://lnkd.in/gsCJsxZP #CreativeMatters #WaterStewardship #Thailand #Sustainability
