In 2012, CSR-in-Action achieved another historic milestone by publishing Nigeria’s first-ever sustainability report—the Corporate Sustainable Investor Report (CSIR). Originally known as the Collective Social Investment Report, the CSIR marked the start of a new chapter in corporate accountability and transparency within the country. The CSIR serves as a practical guide for organisations, helping them measure, report, and improve their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. By encouraging businesses to embrace sustainable strategies, the report nurtures a culture of accountability that continues to shape Nigeria’s path toward sustainable development. The CSIR is not just a report—it is a bold call to action. It challenges companies to think beyond mere compliance, inspiring them to play an active role in building a brighter, more sustainable future for Nigeria. #14YearsOfImpact #CSRinAction #CiASustainabilityPathways #SustainabilityAfrica #Transparency #SustainableDevelopment #ImpactReporting

In 2012, CSR-in-Action achieved a groundbreaking milestone by becoming Nigeria’s first and only certified trainer for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). This achievement marked a turning point for sustainability reporting in the country. As the world’s leading standard for sustainability, GRI provides organisations with the tools they need to measure and communicate their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts effectively. By earning this certification, CSR-in-Action not only introduced global best practices to Nigeria but also helped establish a culture of accountability and transparency across industries. This milestone inspired organisations in various sectors to embrace sustainability as an integral part of their operations. It equipped them with the skills needed to monitor and disclose their impacts in line with global standards. Beyond transforming individual businesses, this achievement drove a larger movement towards ethical and responsible business practices, enabling Nigeria to take its place on the global stage. Over the years, CSR-in-Action has built on this expertise to train more than 1,000 professionals through its College of Sustainable Citizenship. These efforts have fostered a new generation of sustainability leaders, who are now shaping the future of industries across Africa. As we reflect on this journey, our commitment remains steadfast: to build a world where profitability and purpose go hand in hand, driving meaningful change at every level of society. #14YearsOfImpact #CSRinAction #CiASustainabilityPathways #SustainabilityAfrica #GRI #SustainableLeadership #ImpactForChange

Back in 2011, CSR-in-Action took a bold step by launching the Sustainability in the Extractive Industries (SITEI) Conference—a pioneering platform created to tackle the distinct challenges faced by Africa’s extractive sector. The aim was simple yet powerful: to encourage collaboration. Over the years, SITEI has brought together industry leaders, policymakers, civil society organisations, and local communities, all working hand in hand to develop practical solutions for sustainable resource management and meaningful community development. Since its inception, SITEI has grown into a vital force for change. It has shaped policies, amplified the voices of marginalised groups, and driven efforts to ensure greater transparency and accountability in the extractive industry. Beyond addressing environmental and socio-economic concerns, SITEI has sparked key initiatives, including the globally recognised Community Engagement Standards (CES), which provide a framework for building fair and equitable relationships between industries and communities. This year, as we mark the 13th edition of SITEI, the conference once again proved its importance by addressing emerging challenges and uncovering new opportunities within the extractive sector. Through rich discussions, fresh ideas, and collaborative action, SITEI continues to push for a future where the sector becomes a genuine driver of inclusive and sustainable growth. We are deeply grateful for your ongoing support as we press forward on this transformative journey. Together, we remain committed to equity, sustainability, and fostering community-driven progress in this critical industry. #14YearsOfImpact #CSRinAction #CiASustainabilityPathways #SustainabilityAfrica #SITEI #SustainableExtractives #CommunityImpact

For 14 years, CSR-in-Action has been a driving force for sustainability, advocacy, and innovation across Africa. From publishing Nigeria’s first sustainability report to becoming the first and only GRI Certified Trainer in Nigeria, we have set new benchmarks for accountability and transparency. Through initiatives like the globally recognised Community Engagement Standards and the Sustainability in the Extractives Industry (SITEI) Conference, we have fostered collaboration and transformation in key industries. Our award-winning Earth Women documentary highlights the resilience and challenges faced by women in extractive regions, amplifying their voices and driving meaningful dialogue. Through the College of Sustainable Citizenship, we provide expert training in sustainability, ESG frameworks, and GRI standards. In addition, through the Civil Society Organisation Professionalism and Effectiveness Therapy (C-PET) programme, we deliver capacity-building initiatives designed specifically for businesses and civil society organisations, empowering them with the knowledge and resources to drive meaningful impact. Our sustainability-focused training offered free of charge to civil society organisations, ensures that no one is left behind in the journey towards a sustainable future. This celebration is not ours alone—it belongs to everyone who has supported and journeyed with us along the way. As we reflect on fourteen years of impactful milestones, we are excited to continue building an even brighter and more sustainable future together. #14YearsOfImpact #CSRinAction #CiASustainabilityPathways #SustainabilityAfrica #GRI #SustainabilityLeadership #CelebratingChange
