ICYMI CWA — A member of Norda Stelo — designed a rail car unloading system that integrates a tandem rotary railcar dumper capable of unloading rail cars in pairs to achieve an 8,000 tonnes/hour throughput. The spotting and movement of railcars through the receiving station is automated using indexing equipment capable of positioning and translating the railcars without the need to disconnect them or disrupt the setup of the string. The design of an innovative recirculating dust collection system allowed the railcar unloading rate to double while remaining within air emissions typical for approximately one half the throughput. #engineering #materialhandling #drybulk

Key Elements in the Design of Efficient Soft-Transfer Materials Handling Systems for Reduced Dust Generation: A reduction of dust emissions can be achieved in the early design stages through careful analysis of the materials’ properties and the use of design techniques such as DEM or coupled CFD-DEM model analysis to produce soft transfers of dry bulk materials. This proactive design approach reduces the need for costly active dust control methods and results in a more efficient throughput, while minimizing product degradation, clean-up requirements, and waste. What is your asset management strategy? #AssetReliability
𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 play a critical role in the safety of industrial facilities, especially in complex sectors like metallurgy. Their work requires great rigor: inspections, detailed reports, tracking interventions—all under pressure and with strict standards to comply with. How can this task be simplified without compromising safety or compliance? A group of specialists from Norda Stelo developed Stelar to address these challenges. This asset integrity management software simplifies the daily work of inspectors through artificial intelligence and centralized asset information. With Stelar, inspectors become more efficient: they can precisely locate defects on a map or plan, generate reports with a single click, and identify failures such as corrosion or cracks using artificial intelligence. They can also track corrective actions and ensure that all recommendations are implemented. 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆.
