Dr. Ravi Retnakaran, Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto, endocrinologist and clinician-scientist at Mount Sinai Hospital, and the Boehringer Ingelheim Chair in Beta-Cell Preservation, Function and Regeneration is bringing us one step closer to helping people put their type 2 diabetes into remission. Today, Diabetes Canada, in collaboration with Diabetes Action Canada | CIHR SPOR Network and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research | Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada, with support from the Public Health Agency of Canada | Agence de la santé publique du Canada (PHAC), hosted a Diabetes Research Workshop to sustain momentum in implementing the Framework for Diabetes in Canada. This one-day workshop gathered more than 30 researchers from across the country to reflect on the Framework and recommend research priorities to accelerate treatments and promote health in diabetes prevention and care in Canada.
