  • Today is Giving Tuesday—a global day dedicated to generosity and making a difference in your own community. That generosity can be donating money, time or finding ways to support your community. Giving back doesn’t always mean donating money. It can also mean: Volunteering your time or skills with a nonprofit. Sharing causes on social media to help spread the word. Supporting businesses that align with your values. This year, we encourage you to reflect on causes that resonate with you and find meaningful ways to give back. Whether it’s uplifting marginalized communities or advocating for equality, every action makes an impact. We are constantly looking for ways to uplift our communities and give our time. money and energy in ways that fit into our lives. What are you doing for Giving Tuesday? #GivingTuesday #SocialImpact #CommunitySupport

  • Working remotely this holiday season has its perks… and a few quirks! Let’s weigh the highs and lows of keeping things cozy while the festivities roll in. Pro: Not getting roped into the office White Elephant exchange, only to end up with another scented candle. Con: Cannot put last year's scented candle in the White Elephant exchange. Pro: Freedom to snack on cookies whenever you want, no need to sneak them from the breakroom. Con: You are the only one supplying those cookies. There is no endless supply of holiday treats the office is always stocked with (you know, the ones mysteriously left in the breakroom). Pro: No mandatory itchy ugly sweater days or “festive” attire. Con: Your cozy December wardrobe quickly becomes just pyjamas… every single day. Pro: Calling the shots on holiday playlists — the same three songs on repeat? Not anymore. Con: You apparently only know 5 christmas songs. Pro: The commute to work cannot be beat, the only roll over I have to deal with is my pet in the hallway Con: I don’t get to see the Christmas lights on my drive home What are your favourite (or least favourite) parts of working remotely over the holidays? • When you’re working remotely, community isn’t just “nice-to-have”, it’s a lifeline. For all of us who’ve traded the office for remote work, finding connection and support can make all the difference. We believe that having a network of like-minded people is crucial. The sense of isolation is real, and a strong community is the antidote. With the right people around, you’re not just working solo; you’re a part of something bigger. You have people to bounce ideas off, celebrate wins, troubleshoot problems, and even grab virtual coffee with. Community isn’t just about networking—it’s about being surrounded by folks who get it, who know the challenges of remote work and cheer each other on. It’s the place where you can feel seen, understood, and supported. So, if you’re a remote worker feeling the distance, know there’s a space where you belong. Find a community, build your people, and that’s remotely amazing. 𝑰𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒆 𝒑𝒖𝒏? After all, we’re all in this together, wherever we may be. #remoteworkers #community #disruptor

  • In our virtual world, stepping back from screens can feel like a true luxury, especially during the holidays. We know that it can be hard to disconnect. What if you are missing a potential client, or important information or an emergency comes up? However, what if we told you that disconnecting, even temporarily, allows us to reconnect with family, friends, and our own creativity. Here are a few benefits to consider if you're thinking about a holiday digital detox: 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬: Without constant pings and notifications, it’s easier to prioritize tasks and return in January refreshed. 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠: Fewer screens can mean better sleep, reduced stress, and even more energy for the new year. 𝐑𝐞𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲: A break from tech can open up space for reflection, innovative thinking, and goal setting. We aren’t saying that you can’t work over the holidays but maybe turn off the notifications and choose a time to check instead of being constantly available. Do you take a digital detox over the holidays? We’d love to hear your tips for embracing a tech-free holiday! #DigitalDetox #HolidayBalance #Wellbeing #mentalhealth #disruptorsplus

  • We know that the holidays can be fraught with heavy emotions and conflicting feelings. We are here to celebrate all the ways people embrace the holiday season.. Whether that’s buying yourself presents on the 26th, watching all of the cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies, or making your favourite cookies for only you to eat, we want to hear what makes the holidays for you. One of my favourite holiday traditions is decorating my house and tree with my partner and watching the exact same movie (it is the Polar Express, and no, I will not be taking any opinions on that choice at this time) drinking hot chocolate and eating snacks. Once the lights are up, it finally feels like the holidays. Let's celebrate what makes this season special to each of us!. Share your favourite holiday tradition below! Let’s keep the cheer going. #HolidayTraditions #Celebration #DisruptorsPlus

  • As we near the end of the year, it’s the season for re-evaluating goals, tidying up loose ends, setting yourself up for the next chapter, and taking a moment to reflect on everything that you have accomplished throughout the past year.. No matter whether you’re wrapping up big projects, outlining goals for growth, or simply strategizing your next steps, EOY (end of year) planning is the perfect time to fine-tune your business vision. We like to take one of our regular meetings and ask ourselves the following questions to continue to set ourselves up for success. Are the processes, workflows, things we are paying being utilised to their best potential or do we need a tweak? What worked well this year? What things do we want to focus on improving for next year? Are there partnerships, networks or people we want to focus on getting to know better? What has been our greatest success? What do we want to accomplish next year? We’d love to hear what’s top of mind for you as you start to plan for 2025. Let us know below! #EOYPlanning #BusinessGrowth #DisruptorsPlus #makeithappen

  • Does remote work benefit marginalized communities? Absolutely! When you are a minority in an office space you are constantly “on” having to be present and having to be the voice of an entire group of people. You may also be dealing with microaggressions throughout the day. When we take away the in office part of work and you are left to just do your job it is amazing what can happen. Your house is set up for all of your access needs. The statistics around who prefers remote work are staggering. In a 2021 survey of 100,000 workers conducted by the Future Forum, results showed that 81% of Black, 78% of Latinx, and 87% of Asian respondents wanted a flexible working experience, either through a hybrid or remote-only model.
