#GivingTuesdayCA, December 3, is just one week away. And on that day we’re sharing stories of hope from our volunteers. We want to show that with the power of empathy and compassion, hope can be found amidst grief, challenges, and even attempts to take one’s life. You play a big role in giving hope. Your support gives hope to those who reach out to us, knowing that no matter the reason, we are there to listen. Donate today to continue giving hope to our community. https://lnkd.in/d3kzy87Y

Due to the Canada Post strike, some of our mailings may be delayed, which could impact the vital funds we rely on during our annual giving campaign. Distress Centre Calgary is the only 24/7 crisis and emotional support service available throughout the holiday season in the Calgary region. We ensure those experiencing challenging situations are not alone. Your donation today can make all the difference, ensuring people in need receive support and hope when it matters most this holiday season. You can give securely online through the link below, or if you’d prefer to donate by cheque but are concerned about delays, contact us at donate@distresscentre.com and we'll arrange a time to pick-up the cheque (within Calgary city limits). You can also drop off a cheque at our office at 999 8 St SW, Suite 500, Calgary, AB. Our reception is open between 9am-12pm and 1-5pm except on weekends and statutory holidays. Let’s not delay hope—together, we can ensure no one will face their challenges alone. 💚 https://lnkd.in/d3kzy87Y

Thank you to iA Groupe financier (Industrielle Alliance) for their continuous support and $10,000 investment in ConnecTeen! 💙 This generous contribution empowers Distress Centre to provide essential mental health services like daily peer support for youth in our community. Some things can be hard to discuss with an adult, and friends may not always understand—but ConnecTeen is here 24/7, offering youth a safe space by phone, text, or chat to talk about anything they’re facing, from bullying and relationships to school stress. https://lnkd.in/ggdTRybe

Today, on #TransgenderDayofRemembrance, we honour and remember the transgender lives lost to violence, hatred, and discrimination. This day reminds us of the challenges the trans community faces and the need for change to protect and uplift trans individuals. Distress Centre stands with the trans community, providing a safe and supportive space for all. ❤️ If you need support, our responders are here to listen 24/7. You are seen, valued, and never alone. #mentalhealth #awareness #yyc
