Puddle jumping is always fun, so long as the rainwater isn’t collecting around a homeowner’s foundation wall 💧🏠🙅 For effective groundwater management, hydrostatic pressure and capillarity both need to be controlled. There’s no better way of controlling hydrostatic pressure than by providing drainage, and there’s no better way of controlling capillarity than by providing a gap. Wouldn’t it be neat if you could do both with one approach? You certainly can, thanks to DELTA®-MS. The vacuum-formed dimpled pattern creates an air gap between the membrane and the foundation, allowing incidental water to drain. By keeping water away from the foundation wall, DELTA®-MS is able to keep basements dry and protected. Learn more via the link in our bio! 🔗 #DampproofingDonts #DELTAbyDORKEN #Rainwater #Construction

Basements being mere catch-all storage spaces is a thing of the past. These liveable, below-grade spaces are now more coveted than ever—especially with many people embracing a work-from-home lifestyle. But in order to make a basement a comfortable living or working area, you’ll need to implement various safeguards to ensure the space stays dry. Protect your foundations from water and moisture. It’s time to experience the DELTA®-MS difference: https://buff.ly/41wRgFo #TurnTheTide #DELTAbyDORKEN #Drainage #Moisture #Basement #WorkFromHome

For a thorough understanding of the process of blindside protection refer to the excellent article in this month's Construction Canada (page 22). @Rockford Boyer, of @ELASTOCHEM, goes into terrific detail on the development of this process and the value of adhering to industry standards for all buildings. Of course we are thrilled to see our new DELTA®-TERRAXX featured in the photographs and we applaud Mr. Boyer for such a great analysis. Definately worth a read! https://buff.ly/3VyT1ko #construction canada, #delta products, #DELTA TERRAXX, #waterproofing, #blindside

In essence, the second law of thermodynamics states that heat moves from warm to cold. This also applies to moisture moving from warm to cold, as well as air moving from higher to lower pressure. Why does this matter to building professionals focused on moisture control? Well, thermodynamics can reliably tell us which parts of a building will be warmer and which parts will be colder. With this in mind, we can usually determine that moisture will end up in the cold spot. Eureka! 💡 For more keen insights, be sure to watch our full video on the subject with @Dr. Joe Lstiburek, principal at @Building Science Corporation. Wrapping a building requires precision, as improper installation, prolonged exposure, or damage can compromise the effectiveness of the wrap. Penetrating the product during installation, such as through nailing or accidental damage, can lead to leaks that reduce its ability to resist air and water. DELTA®-VENT SA avoids this risk with its self-adhering technology, maintaining a secure, leak-resistant barrier without the need for fasteners. What is a rainscreen cavity? We define it as a space in an enclosure wall assembly between the cladding and the water resistive barrier that provides a passive means of directing liquid water to the exterior and sufficient airflow to remove water vapor.
