I help climate CEOs grow faster with America's largest private peer group, and I post on startup lessons, investment trends, and personal optimization — Climate Tech Founder, Coach, Investor, Professor, Podcaster, "Monk"

This CEO has raised $100M for a metal battery targeting the $4T long-duration energy storage market projected by 2040. ⚡ My guest on this EFI (Entrepreneurs for Impact) podcast was James Larsen, CEO of e-Zinc. e-Zinc produces zinc-based long-duration energy storage technology with discharge durations between 10 and 100 hours. They have raised over $100M in funding and are building their first three commercial pilots. In addition to his role at e-Zinc, James is a Board Director of the Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council) and Energy Storage Canada, as well as a former Manager at Bain and MaRS. 🎯 In this episode, you’ll learn these four important takeaways. 1. How the long-duration energy storage sector is poised to become a $4T market by 2040 and its various use cases 2. Why he’s going to market with a “resilience as a service” business model (instead of a CapEx) 3. Why it’s essential to convert sustainability technology from cost centers into revenue centers 4. What Vipassana meditation is and why he starts his morning with it -- 🎤 Listen to the podcast interview with James today: Apple - https://lnkd.in/eJZkckSP Spotify - https://lnkd.in/eUjMPSsc

  • There has been a lot of excitement about the opening of our new manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Ontario. One of the reasons why? It's our ground breaking technology! ⚡ Long Duration Energy Storage While most energy storage provides a few hours of power, our solution offers from several hours to multiple days, reliably! ⚡ Safe Our system uses a water-based electrolyte which is non-flammable and has no risk of thermal runaway. ⚡Low-cost e-Zinc's technology decouples power from energy, allowing low-cost scaling of energy capacity. Our new facility provides a manufacturing bridge to a zero-carbon future and reliable power in Ontario, in Canada, and beyond. We excited to have taken this key step towards our vision of bringing affordable, clean and reliable energy for all.
