🌍 Advancing Sustainable Cooling with Clean Cooling Collaborative 🌍 Econoler is proud to partner with the Clean Cooling Collaborative, powered by the ClimateWorks Foundation, to drive impactful change in cooling, which is now a cornerstone of climate action plans globally. Through this collaboration, we’ve led a comprehensive technical assistance program that directly supports global energy efficiency goals in the household cooling sectorand the hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) phase-down to mitigate climate impact. Our work, funded by this transformative grant, encompasses: ✅ Supporting the establishment of minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) to elevate energy efficiency across cooling appliances. ✅ Assisting the design of policy measures to guide a sustainable HFC phase-down in alignment with climate commitments. ✅ Creating a robust monitoring, verification, and enforcement (MVE) system that ensures long-term adherence to cooling standards. ✅ Developing an innovative blended finance model and appliance replacement mechanism that leverages carbon revenues, supporting the HFC phase-down under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement. Through these initiatives, we’re not only enhancing energy efficiency but also paving the way for sustainable cooling solutions that reduce environmental impact while meeting global demand. We are excited to continue championing these vital transitions toward a more sustainable and resilient world. To learn more, read this Mid-Program Impact Report: https://lnkd.in/gu7S2F67 #SustainableCooling #ClimateAction #EnergyEfficiency #ParisAgreement #ClimateCoolingCollaborative

From just seven countries in 2015 to over 100 today, cooling is now a cornerstone of climate action plans globally. Since 2020, the Clean Cooling Collaborative’s NDC (Nationally Determined Contributions) Support Facility has been helping ten countries integrate efficient, climate-friendly cooling into their long-term climate action plans. We're proud to be driving this growing movement towards global clean cooling solutions. Despite challenges like the Covid-19 pandemic and political instability, tangible progress has been made. From Pakistan’s proposed energy standards for refrigerated display cabinets to Morocco's efficiency regulations for air conditioners and refrigerators, the impact of the NDC Support Facility is clear. As the 2025 submission deadline approaches, our implementing partner, the UN Environment Programme-led Cool Coalition, is preparing new guidelines to help countries enhance their cooling commitments.

🌍 Reflecting on the 4th UfM Energy and Climate Business Forum 📍Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Cairo, Egypt   The Mediterranean region is increasingly vulnerable to climate impacts such as extreme weather events, sea-level rise, and biodiversity loss. Addressing these challenges requires innovative funding mechanisms, supportive legal frameworks, and effective strategies to retain skilled professionals.   Our colleague Rana El-Guindy, Energy Economics and Sustainable Finance Expert at Econoler, shared her insights during the conference panel on Funding Mechanisms and Opportunities for Mitigation and Adaptation on October 2nd.   This session explored ways to: ✔️Facilitate Dialogue on Funding Mechanisms: Discuss innovative approaches to climate funding in the Mediterranean. ✔️Enhance Project Bankability: Discuss strategies to increase the financial viability and attractiveness of climate projects to investors. ✔️Improve Legal Frameworks: Explore approaches for developing and maintaining supportive legal and regulatory environments for climate investments. ✔️Address Talent Retention: Identify solutions to retain skilled professionals in climate-related roles and mitigate the issue of brain drain. ✔️Foster Regional Collaboration: Promote dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders to strengthen climate finance efforts and identify opportunities for joint initiatives.   Rana delivered insightful perspectives on Talent Retention, discussing how career development opportunities and incentives can play a crucial role in mitigating brain drain and retaining the skilled professionals essential for advancing climate action in the Mediterranean. Her experience in the MENA region provided invaluable context to the discussion, enriching the dialogue on the future of climate finance, regulatory frameworks, and collaborative approaches to climate mitigation.   The insights and collaborations sparked at this forum are only the beginning. By continuing to innovate, invest in talent, and strengthen our partnerships, we can turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s sustainable solutions. 💡   Union for the Mediterranean | Cairo Sustainable Energy Week - CSEW #TalentRetention #ClimateFinance #MENARegion #CairoSustainableEnergyWeek #UfMClimateForum
