Meet the Team: Fu Hong – Apprentice Carpenter Effect Home Builders ABOUT YOU What's your favorite hobby or activity outside of work? -Playing video games. It allows me to trash talk my friends, experience gripping stories and interesting worlds, and is probably one of the healthier addictions. EFFECT HOME BUILDERS What's your role at Effect, and what does a typical day look like for you? -As an apprentice carpenter, I’m constantly learning how a house can be built and bringing plans to life. A typical day involves me helping bring a structure into reality through formwork and framing. Share a memorable moment or achievement during your time at Effect. -Rather than a singular memorable moment, I always love performing a task and being able to look back and see my improvement. What's your favorite thing about the team/working at Effect? -My favorite thing about the Effect team is the passion for excellence everybody has. I know that I’m surrounded by people who try their best to deliver quality, no matter how hard or confusing something may be. EDMONTON FAVORITES What is the best part about living in Edmonton? -The diversity. You meet so many people from all walks of life, and this is evident in so many ways. Tell us a fun fact about you. -I'm younger than Kurtis's work truck. What's one thing on your bucket list that you're determined to check off? -Go scuba diving in Hawaii. EFFECT HOME BUILDERS What's your role at Effect, and what does a typical day look like for you? -I am an apprentice carpenter. I show up to work, set up, vibe to some tunes, get a list from one of the boys, and get to work. Share a memorable moment or achievement during your time at Effect. -A memorable moment was the crane day we had when we stood all the shop walls and put on the roof in one day. We went from 0 to framed in a day. What's your favorite thing about the team/working at Effect? -Hanging out with the boys and seeing everyone’s different personalities. Everyone gets along, and we can all be ourselves and have a good time. EDMONTON FAVORITES What is your favorite Edmonton community? -Millwoods. Favorite hidden Edmonton gem -Langano Skies is my favorite restaurant. Definitely check them out on a weekend—the best Ethiopian food in the city. Best part about living in Edmonton -Rec league hockey and walking trails.
