As we wrap up 2024, we’re celebrating the impact of our collective energy-saving efforts — we couldn’t have achieved these savings without your participation and continued support. Here’s a look at some of our accomplishments: 🌟 We’ve received more than 5,000 applications for our Home Insulation Rebate to date, which will help these Manitobans keep their homes warm and energy efficient. 🌟 We’ve collected and responsibly recycled a total of over 9,000 old and inefficient appliances through our Appliance Recycling Program. 🌟 Our Solar Rebate exceeded our annual savings target by an astounding 47% this year! 🌟 Since the launch of our Air Source Heat Pump Rebate, we’ve received nearly 1,100 applications and provided over 800 rebates to participants. 🌟 Since 2020, we’ve helped 8,300 suites make energy efficiency upgrades through our In-Suite Energy Efficiency Program. 🌟 We've paid over $30 million in incentives to over 5,000 participants through our Business Lighting Program to date. This translates to saving 224 gigawatt-hours of electricity every year, which represents annual customer energy bill savings of about $10 million! Save money and cut product spoilage with our Commercial Refrigeration Program! Through our program, Harris Meats & Groceries on Arlington Street in Winnipeg upgraded their display coolers and freezer cases with EcoVision glass doors, LED refrigeration lighting, ECM evaporator fan motors, and a high-efficiency protocol system. These improvements will save them nearly 276,000 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity each year, which translates to around $16,000 in annual savings on their energy bills. We also gave them a $35,000 incentive for their upgrades! Not only did Harris Meats & Groceries see an immediate impact on their energy use and bill savings, but their community was quick to notice the improved look of the store, the fresher products, and the more enjoyable shopping experience. The Hive, Winnipeg’s first modern climbing gym, recently participated in our Business Lighting Program — and their energy savings are reaching new heights! Through our program, they upgraded all the overhead lights in their main gym space to energy-efficient LED fixtures. Because of this upgrade, they’ll save an astounding 19,000 kWh of electricity every year. We also gave them an incentive of $3,300 for participating and they can expect to save $950 annually on their energy bills.
