  • Winter Solstice: A Moment to Reflect and Recharge Today, as we experience the shortest day of the year, we’re reminded of the importance of balance. The winter solstice offers a natural pause—a chance to reflect on the past year’s achievements and plan for the opportunities ahead. At Elevation, we recognize that progress comes from both action and rest. Just as nature uses this season to recharge, we’re taking a moment to do the same—aligning our focus and energy for the brighter, longer days to come. We’re grateful for the partnerships and opportunities that have shaped this year and look forward to continuing to work together to achieve meaningful goals in 2025. Here’s to embracing the season with purpose and preparing for the light ahead.

  • Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to reflect on the painful legacy of residential schools and honor the resilience, strength, and rich cultures of Indigenous peoples across Canada. We asked Elevation’s Indigenous Relations Team Lead, Lindsay Carnes, to share her thoughts on the importance of this day. She reflected: "When I was growing up, there wasn’t a shared understanding of what First Nations, Métis, and Inuit children went through at residential schools. We’ve come a long way in building our understanding of these historic harms as Canadians, but it’s essential to take a moment to reflect on both the history and the path forward. So much work has been done by Indigenous peoples to tell us what we need to do as Canadians. Between the Calls to Action, the Calls for Justice, and the guidance within the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, we have a roadmap to follow. Let’s commit to keep taking steps." At Elevation Technical Services, we are dedicated to continuing this journey toward reconciliation, ensuring that our actions reflect respect, learning, and meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities. Together, we can work toward a future grounded in understanding and trust. #NationalDayForTruthAndReconciliation #EveryChildMatters #TruthAndReconciliation #IndigenousPeoples #CommitToAction #ReconciliationInAction

  • Today, members of our team attended the webinar Allyship and Confronting Unconscious Bias, presented by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation. The session offered valuable insights, and two quotes from Dr. Carey Miller resonated deeply with us: “There’s this argument that if we teach our kids the bad things that happened historically, they will not believe in their country or be good citizens… I’m glad that Canada is teaching openly about Residential Schools within their education system. You teach the darker side of your country’s history to prevent it from happening again.” “We have to do the work and start from a basis of truth, so we can have open conversations and be on the same page as we move forward.” We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from speakers like Lila Bruyere and Dr. Carey Miller, and appreciate Andrea Ménard for moderating this important discussion. If you missed it, a recording of the webinar is available on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gkwis6fu
