Proud to have been awarded the Game-Changer Award at Greentown Labs yesterday, recognizing the startup that has the potential to make the biggest impact on sustainability by mitigating climate change! 🌿 🚀
Decarbonizing the built environment—including our homes, offices, retail spaces, and more—requires innovations that revolutionize how buildings are planned, built, retrofitted, and managed. Our Buildings Sector Pitch Day with IMPEL at Berkeley Lab focused on bringing together the startups, investors, and corporate partners whose collaboration can accelerate these solutions. Following a networking lunch, 22 #buildingtech startups took to the stage to pitch and showcase their solutions—and five investors and corporates presented reverse pitches to share how they work with startups. Congratulations to the three startups who won awards: 📣 The Storyteller Award: Jane Chen of Stepwise 🌎 The Game-changer Award: Victoria Pisini of Enersion Inc. 🤝 The Community Champion Award: Alexa Bednarz of Eco-Shelter Thanks to the additional startups who pitched: 🏙 Taylor Vick of Counterbalance Software ☀ Darius Roberts of Uplift ❄ Rahul Subramany of Monaire 🏢 Tim Sweeney of Simplus Systems 🏭 Winston Morton of Climative 🔌 Ryan Li of Revert Technologies 🏠 Felipe Polido of Reframe Systems And to Michel Nasilowski of NOVA by Saint-Gobain, Victoria Smith of Zacua Ventures, Jesse Roth of Holcim, and Lucas Turner-Owens of Building Ventures for reverse pitching! Showcasing startups included AeroShield Materials, BioTwin, Cala Systems, Clean Flame Thermal Solutions, EMPEQ, MicroEra Power, Inc., Nimble Energy, Onboard Data Inc., Spare-it, Teknobuilt, and Transaera, Inc. Finally, a huge thank you to IMPEL at Berkeley Lab for collaborating with us on this event and supporting our community! Your next opportunity to meet incredible startups is on Sept. 11 at Greentown Houston or Sept. 12 at Greentown Boston—and of course, at #ClimatetechSummit on Oct. 22 and 24!
