🚨 Major Win Against Cybercrime! 🚨 Interpol has made significant strides in combating cybercrime with Operation Synergia II, resulting in the arrest of 41 individuals and the takedown of over 1,037 servers across 95 countries. This operation, conducted between April and August 2024, targeted key threats like ransomware, phishing, and information stealers. Backed by intelligence from top cybersecurity firms such as Group-IB, Kaspersky, Trend Micro, and Team Cymru, authorities identified over 30,000 suspicious IP addresses, dismantling 76% of them. The operation not only disrupted malicious infrastructure but also prevented countless potential victims from falling prey to cybercriminals. As cyber threats evolve, including the use of generative AI to enhance phishing attacks, law enforcement and private sectors must collaborate. This morning, I sat down with my coffee and treated myself to a special read: The CII Case Book! This book is the product of many submissions and months of teamwork, led by the Council of International Investigators (CII)'s Ronald Bosman, and co-edited by me, Larry Gurwin, CFE, and Steve L.. We are proud of our efforts and the result – and I am honoured to be part of this project alongside my distinguished peers. The CII Case Book is a compilation of real-life stories from my Private Investigator peers around the globe. Some are thrilling, some a bit humorous, and some involve tragedies. All of them provide insight into the real work that PIs do, and the incredible impact PIs make to people's lives. Although I had seen most of the stories in this book already during the editing process, this morning was the first time I sat down and read them in all, in book form, cover-to-cover. AMAZING work, team! 👏👏👏 Here's to many more editions to come! 🥂
