It’s Giving Tuesday! GivingTuesday marks the global movement of generosity and community impact—a day where individuals, charities, and companies come together to support the causes they care about. Through our ETRO Gives program, we’re proud to share that in 2024 alone, we’ve raised $80,672 in support of remarkable organizations such as Foundry, The Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of British Columbia (Crisis Centre), and The KidSafe Project Society. Beyond financial support, it’s been deeply fulfilling to partner with these charities and witness the amazing work they do to uplift vulnerable members of our community. Our team is also excited to give back this holiday season by volunteering and supporting upcoming initiatives with several incredible charities, including: - Plenty of Plates put on by A Better Life Foundation: Preparing and serving dinner for vulnerable members of the Downtown Eastside Community. - Langley Christmas Bureau: Purchasing, wrapping, and delivering gifts to 5 families in need. - Boxes of Hope put on by Whole Way House: Providing needed items and thoughtful gifts to low-income seniors, veterans, and vulnerable residents in the community. Our ETRO team had an incredible time at the Vancouver Building Block Competition hosted by Canderel Challenge! Our creativity and building skills were put to the test, facing off against industry peers to design and construct a futuristic Canderel site envisioning the next 20 years made entirely out of LEGO® blocks. Our team took home first place with our visionary build incorporating a mixed-use community space complete with a lush garden, skate park, doctor’s office with helicopter landing pad, and even a rooftop pool and spa! The event wasn’t just about building—it was about giving back, with proceeds supporting the BC Cancer Foundation's crucial cancer research. This past weekend, the ETRO team had an amazing time at the Girls and STEAM Summit at Science World, where we showcased how cool construction can be to 300 young girls. This inspiring annual event encourages young girls to dive into Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, guided by incredible female mentors—like our very own Project Manager, Alyson Gregoire! At our booth, attendees explored cmBuilder.io software, learning about Virtual Design and Construction, site logistics planning and sequencing, and even stepped into a virtual reality tour of one of our current projects in development. Heritage revitalization is a true passion for us, and we’re beyond excited to celebrate our 402 West Pender project winning a Special Recognition Award in the Heritage Category at the VRCA Awards of Excellence! Originally built in 1912 as the British Columbia Securities Building and designed by renowned architect Henry Sandham Griffith, this historic gem was brought back to life through our ETRO Revive services. Providing a significant exterior upgrade to this iconic building has been an incredibly rewarding experience for our entire team.
