Child marriage felt like the only way to secure her daughter’s future. However, through the Child Marriage No More parent group, Jasmin learned the dangers of child marriage. She confidently refused the marriage offer! Today, Keya is studying hard and Jesmin plays a pivotal role in ending child marriage in the community. Globally, one in five girls are married while they are still a child. The numbers are even more alarming in the world’s least developed countries—including six FH partner countries like Bangladesh—where the rate doubles to 40 per cent. This means four in ten girls are married before turning 18, and 12 per cent are forced into marriage before their 15th birthday.
