💊 It’s Pharmacy Appreciation Month, and we want to give a shout out to our incredible pharmacy teams! March is dedicated to recognizing the amazing work you do for our patients and communities. Whether working in a hospital, in a community setting or at a long-term care site you are an integral part of our health care team. Thanks for all you do.
In partnership with BC Emergency Health Services and Health Emergency Management BC, we have two new EpiShuttles for the Biocontainment Treatment Centre at Surrey Memorial Hospital. The pod-like carriers are designed to keep highly infectious patients and health care workers safe during transport. They fit into ambulances, helicopters and planes. “Ebola was the impetus for BC’s first Biocontainment Treatment Centre and the EpiShuttle—a first for B.C.—elevates our level of response, should we need to transport a patient with a high-risk pathogen,” says Tracie Jones, who manages the BC Biocontainment Treatment and Provincial Training Centre and supports Fraser Health’s emergency preparedness. Opened in 2018, the BC Biocontainment Treatment Centre is a provincial resource located at Surrey Memorial Hospital for training and treatment of patients with rare or emerging pathogens. By working together, we can provide leading-edge care for emerging and rare diseases and help guard global public health. https://lnkd.in/gN7_hyq2
