I know that networking can be intimidating, so I wanted to share a simple trick that helped me 😊
When I first started attending events, I felt so scared and anxious that it would sometimes (very often) prevent me from going at all.
But this fear is natural—you know nobody in the room, how can you not feel intimidated?
So... I decided to start inviting friends or someone in my network who might be interested in the topic to join me 🤝
You can even invite people you meet at one event. That’s how I met Nancy Ha! We first connected at an event, then she invited me to another one, and a year and a half later, we crossed paths again:)
Knowing there’s at least one person you know in the room can give you peace of mind—and even make networking fun.
This picture is from yesterday at Fuckup Nights Montréal with my friend Radhika Malhotra. We had an incredible time and even got to see a dog! 🐶 Great work from Natalie Riviere for hosting the event 💯 (FUN events are super recommended if you want to start attending events).

From my conversation with Nancy, came up the idea of creating a group chat for people who want to attend networking events 💬. This way, we can cross paths with other like-minded people. So if you’re interested in events related to #Impact, #Sustainability, #Startups, or #Innovation, send me a message—maybe we’ll meet at the next event!
Note of the side: as immigrants networking is not an option but a must, so I hope it can inspire people to get out of their comfort zone:)
