  • Key Highlights from the ITB Policy Annual Report – Fall 2024 The Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy continues to drive economic growth and innovation in Canada. It mandates that defence and Coast Guard contractors match the value of their contracts (typically over $100M) with equivalent economic activities in Canada. Here are interesting highlights:   ➡️ Economic Contribution: The ITB Policy contributes $4.7B annually to GDP, supporting 40,200 jobs across the country. ➡️ Regional Benefits: ITB initiatives align closely with regional industrial strengths, boosting localized innovation and growth. ➡️ Support for SMBs: Among the 720 Canadian recipient organizations involved, 65% are Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs). ➡️ Innovation: 45 Canadian academic and research institutions are engaged in ITB-driven R&D, advancing critical technologies. Over $1.1B committed to R&D initiatives. ➡️ Diversity and Inclusion: Since 2018, gender and diversity plans are a mandatory component of the ITB Value Proposition. Bidders are required to describe their approach to achieving gender balance and increasing diversity within their Canadian corporate structures and broader supply chains.   This annual report highlights the opportunities ITB policies offer for Canadian businesses of all sizes. By participating, companies can grow their capacities, innovate and contribute to large defence contracts. https://lnkd.in/gVtJbTjE
