Grand Council Treaty #3's Health Team hosted a Health Council meeting this week in Winnipeg, MB. The Health Council includes representatives from each of the community Health Directors and from mandated health organizations for information sharing and discussion on community health needs and priorities. We're grateful to Chief McVicar and Councillor Amber Sinclair for joining Health Council and representing the Social Chiefs. This Health Council meeting included discussion on education pathways with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, an update on the Ontario Health Plan, Northern Ontario Home and Community Care, FIT Kit cancer screening, an update from the Ontario Renal Network, wound care, and the patient ombudsman.
