Juan Merchán is a researcher who helped carry out the GRC's wide-ranging study of 645 journalists in 87 countries about their experiences with reputational attacks and harassment. He also helped co-author the subsequent report, 'Not Just Words.' Juan recently spoke with Fundación para la Libertad de Prensa - FLIP, a press freedom organization in Colombia, about the report's findings and how they relate to the hostilities that Latin American journalists face.
