Good Neighbours Canada is grateful to have been invited to the year-end Happy Senior Concert, hosted by one of our partners in our senior inclusion program. We were excited to meet 200 of its participants and supporters of the program. We are also extremely grateful to be recognized as a partner organization for Happy Senior Center. Through their staff and volunteers, Good Neighbours Canada is able to create a program that equips senior citizens with technology literacy that will help them achieve self-reliance as well as navigate through an ever-changing society. 📱 The event was a great opportunity for us to listen to the community's needs to help us improve our program for the future! Yesterday, Good Neighbours Canada attended the virtual awarding of the TCS Charity Challenge for the recent TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon 2024! We are proud to official announce that we have raised a total of $1,147,84 through fundraising and race referrals! We want to thank the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for giving us local charities the opportunity to fundraise through their marathon. We also want to thank all the fundraising participants that have supported us and helped us reach this amount! 🏃♀️ Funds raised in the marathon will be allocated to our #Step4Water campaign, where we support accessible water in Zambia by building boreholes and educating the community on proper use and maintenance. Volunteer for us this holiday season! ❄️ Are you interested in doing something meaningful this holiday season? Good Neighbours Canada is hosting a holiday kit-packing event this week! We will be packing menstrual hygiene kits that will be sent to young girls that are part of our Better Life for Girls program in El Salvador. Each kit contains menstrual pads, shampoo, soap, conditioner, and more. 🧼 Join us in sending something special to these amazing girls. Our event is open to everyone who wants to volunteer for the season. The activity will be held on December 11, 12, and 13 at our office in Scarborough. Good Neighbours Canada would like to share its heartfelt gratitude to Rexall Care Network for awarding us a plaque in honour of our partnership! We had visited one of their locations and were given a wonderful celebration by the branch manager Ana Marie Kabigting and regional lead Ryan Ramlal. Thanks to our funding from Rexall, we were able to support our program for families with additional needs alongside PATH (Parents Association Living Toward Hope). It provided engaging activities for children with additional needs, empowers their parents with necessary resources, and strengthens the family network.
