  • 'Nicole', a beautiful new film by renowned photographer and filmmaker, Johan Hallberg Campbell will premier at IMAGINATE, on May 9. Follow the healing journey of a community advocate as she confronts the darkest times in her life--the same mean streets that she left 15 years behind her. A poignant, heartfelt story that will inspire viewers and leave them with a sense of lingering hope. IMAGINATE is an evening of possibility, a delicious and moveable feast for the senses to entertain, inspire and motivate action toward building a community of belonging. Also featured, bestselling author, Jesse Thistle (From the Ashes) and Kingston music collective, The Gertrudes. Proceeds support the street-level work of Green Wood Coalition. • We're thrilled to be hosting bestselling author, Jesse Thistle, as part of IMAGINATE 2024, in Cobourg, ON. Tickets are on sale now at the Victoria Hall Box Office. Jesse Thistle is Métis-Cree, from Prince Albert, SK, and an assistant professor in Humanities at York University in Toronto. His best-selling memoir, ‘From the Ashes’, has won numerous awards, fans and was a finalist for CBC Canada Reads. In March 2024 the publisher, Simon & Schuster, listed it as one of 100 most notable books they’ve published in their 100 years. Also on that list were authors like F. Scott Fitzgerald, Hilary Clinton and Ernest Hemingway. Jesse will read from his new book of poetry, ‘Scars & Stars’, followed by an onstage conversation with Kerri Kightley. IMAGINATE is a feast for the senses that will entertain, inspire and motivate action toward building a community of belonging. It's a gathering of storytellers, an opportunity to learn new perspectives and push boundaries. It’s a stage filled with some of the most innovative and heart-full creatives of our time. This year’s event will be hosted by Christian Harvey and will also feature music by Kingston band, The Gertrudes, and a new film by Johan Hallberg-Campbell. With thanks to signature sponsor, Don Emond CPCA, Assante Wealth Management.
