  • What an incredible success! Our “Towards a Green Future: India’s Climate Stewardship” workshop, held on February 17th, 2025 at JNU, New Delhi, was an overwhelming success! The event brought together research scholars, media students, and international delegates to tackle the climate crisis and explore actionable solutions for sustainable development, climate action, and resilience-building. Ivory Coast is utilizing advanced technologies like satellite monitoring and blockchain to ensure compliance with the EU’s new sustainability regulations, aiming to reduce deforestation and increase farmer incomes. A floating lab expedition has revealed the alarming state of Amazonian rivers, highlighting mercury contamination and sedimentation due to illegal gold mining, with healthier ecosystems in areas under indigenous stewardship. In Indonesia, increasing biomass energy demands from South Korea and Japan are contributing to deforestation, raising concerns about the true sustainability of biomass. Meanwhile, Ottawa has introduced an ambitious waste reduction policy targeting a 60% reduction in landfill contributions by 2030, with new composting and recycling measures.
