This month, we're celebrating the Black families who've partnered with Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia to achieve a home of their own. Through Habitat Nova Scotia's Homeownership Program, families build strength, stability and independence and create a brighter future for future generations. Let's work together for a future where every family has a place to call home. #BlackHistoryMonth

As we work to expand our impact across the province, both in building homes and growing our ReStore—we need a clear, actionable plan to guide us forward. We’re looking for a consultant with strong local knowledge of Nova Scotia’s diverse communities and a deep understanding of the affordable housing landscape. This is a great opportunity to help shape the future of Habitat NS and make a lasting impact. Phil and Sue lost their home of over ten years in the Upper Tantallon Wildfires a year and a half ago. Today, we welcomed them back to their community and handed over the keys to their reconstructed home. Thank you to everyone who came out to help us celebrate Phil and Sue's key ceremony. Thank you also to everyone who has donated and volunteered for this home. Our work is only possible thanks to the support of donors, volunteers, and advocates like you. A special thank you to United Way Maritimes and the Canadian Red Cross, key partners in this project. #welcomehome

Meet John and Sandy, two dedicated volunteers who played a huge role in building a home for our newest Habitat homeowners in New Glasgow. Week after week, John and Sandy dedicated dozens of hours of volunteer time to the build. Their hard work and generosity have made a real difference in the lives of Emily, Zach and their young son. “It was an opportunity to give a young couple a chance to get started that they normally wouldn’t get,” Sandy shared. A huge thank you to both of them for their unwavering support and dedication. 👏 Read more about their volunteer journey: https://lnkd.in/eH2mb_3P #HabitatNovaScotia #VolunteerAppreciation #BuildingCommunity #HabitatForHumanity
