On World Tunnel Day, we celebrate the incredible engineering feats that connect our world in innovative ways. From transit tunnels to water supply systems, this highly skilled industry never ceases to amaze us with its innovation and dedication. One of our most memorable tunnel experiences in 2024 was the Annacis Water Supply Tunnel in Metro Vancouver. This project not only showcased our technical expertise but also our commitment to sustainable and resilient infrastructure. So far, we’ve completed 80-meter-deep diaphragm walls and 50-meter-deep shaft excavations at both the North and South Sites, procured and delivered a 4.7-meter diameter Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) from world-renowned supplier Herrenknecht, and launched the TBM, achieving 70% completion of the 2.3 km tunnel. We invite you to share your most memorable 2024 tunneling stories and experiences in the comments below. ⬇️ Let's celebrate the achievements and the people who make these engineering marvels possible! #WorldTunnelDay #Engineering #Infrastructure #Hatch
