  • At HBT, we cherish not only our incredible employees but also the joy of sharing meals together! Our annual Winter Event gave us the perfect opportunity to do both. We spent the day crafting pottery, celebrating achievements, and recognizing our amazing team members. A big congratulations to Mel, our Senior Systems Administrator, for earning the Best Employee of the Year award! It was a fantastic way to wrap up the year—here’s to more moments like this in the future!"

  • HBT recently had the privledge of attending the Vancouver Board of Trade Health Care Forum. Our partner Pacific Blue Cross (PBC) presented the first ever provincial study on menopause released by the Women’s Health Research Institute (WHRI), in collaboration with the BC Women’s Health Foundation and PBC. The study involved over 2,000 people aged 39 to 60 and studied the various affects that menopuase has on women’s personal health and their professional lives. • Last week some of our Benefits Team attended the CSSEA AGM & Conference here in Vancouver. It was an inspiring week of learning, connecting with our employers and served as a great reminder of all the good work done in this sector. Congrats to all the award winners and thank you to the CSSEA team for all the hard work of putting this valuable conference together.

  • Today we recognize and celebrate this momentous day in history! #Juneteenth acknowledges when Union troops ensured that all enslaved African Americans in Galveston Bay and across Texas be set free on June 19, 1865. This is more than just a holiday, but an important reminder about not only the amazing contributions this community has contributed to the word, but the prejudices that still exist today. On this day we should reflect on this rich cultural heritage and take a moment to honour it's history. #diversitymatters #inclusion
