Adam Grant’s post has me reflecting on the connection to healthcare here. It reminds me that each patient brings their own unique hopes, fears, and personal histories into their care journey — stories that shape critical health needs and inequities that too often go unseen. The heart of healthcare is in the name itself: it’s not ‘health assembly line’ or ‘health factory’ or simply ‘health services’ — it’s healthcare. At Healthkind, we honour this distinction by helping surface a patient’s humanity, using technology to recognize and respond to the individual with every interaction. It’s our way of underlining the care in healthcare. 💜

    • My new favorite word: sonder.

It's the profound awareness that every person you encounter has experienced a lifetime of hopes, fears, loves, and heartaches that you'll never know.

Each moment of sonder is a reminder to appreciate how little we truly grasp about others' lives.

Everyone wants to be an AI company. So much so, that if you’re not using (or talking about, or planning for) AI, you might be seen as falling behind. To be fair, the bar is pretty low at the moment — the rush to adopt AI has led to some pretty bizarre use cases that simply check the box. BetaKit talked about this timely identity crisis in their recent article: Are you an AI company or a company that uses AI? The distinction is important — but maybe not for very long. Let’s go back to the early days of the internet. To be considered an “internet” company, you were an ISP like AOL or CompuServe. These companies essentially “built the internet” with modems, phone lines, and networks. Of course, internet-based companies today don’t lay down cables, but they still benefit from the literal groundwork laid by those early ISPs. A figurative “ground-breaking” comparable for the AI era is Canadian darling Cohere. They’re paving the way for the next wave of applied AI companies who have focused industry knowledge and know the right corners to precisely apply AI. The flow of opportunities begins with companies like Cohere, who build foundational models. It then extends to applied AI companies that leverage these models to address real-world problems, and finally to AI adopters — the customers who use these solutions in their business operations. As AI continues to evolve, value will be unlocked by those who not only adopt it but apply it thoughtfully and strategically—just as we’re doing at Healthkind, in healthcare.

If you work in healthcare, the Healthkind team would love your help! We built a a short, <10 minute questionnaire to better understand the unique challenges clinics and healthcare organizations are facing right now. We’re interested in hearing from the voices of clinicians, medical office assistants, and management alike. Why Participate? Healthkind is enhancing patient-clinic communications and clinic efficiency through innovative AI-driven solutions. Your feedback will help us solve the most important problems and directly contribute to the products we’re building. About Healthkind: Healthkind is a platform that changes the way patients and clinics communicate– making healthcare conversations more efficient and meaningful, by making them more personal. We take a nuanced approach to communication: automate everyday patient interactions, do so with empathy, and give back time to healthcare practitioners who can then be more present with patients. Thank you for your time and valuable input. Let's shape the future of healthcare communication, together! https://lnkd.in/gn9Fs8Qs

Huffington and Altman’s new venture highlights a duality we think about every day at Healthkind: AI's ability to automate and personalize. This approach has historically clashed with balancing financial objectives and patient care — achieving meaningful operational efficiencies while also improving experience and satisfaction. It sounds like an impossible task, right? Healthkind automates routine patient-clinic interactions and tailors the content, cadence, delivery medium, and timing of those messages to adapt to individual needs and preferences. We alleviate the administrative burden for healthcare organizations and enhance care for patients. One-size-fits-all shouldn't be the standard of care. Healthkind is bringing back personalized care that has faded in the wake of healthcare's industrialization, one small step at a time. https://lnkd.in/gcVRHUTg
