Continuing our Black History Month celebrations at HOOPP, we hosted a virtual Speaker Series session with Lekan Olawoye, founder and CEO of Obsidi® Black Professionals in Tech Network (BPTN), North America’s largest Black tech and business community. In this session, Lekan explored the intersection of technology, diversity and systemic bias, highlighting the importance of reducing hiring bias and creating equitable opportunities in the workplace. Thank you to Lekan for leading this important discussion and to our Learning & Development team and BLACK ERG for organizing the event. He played a pivotal role in expanding the private equity portfolio and successfully launched HOOPP’s infrastructure investing strategy in 2019. In his current role, Steve oversees all infrastructure investments and related activities within a portfolio that has grown to more than $7 billion, participating in some of the most significant deals worldwide. Dedicated to continuous learning, Steve recently completed the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program, Canada's leading program for experienced board directors.
