ik ya’ll wanted to see what was inside the newspaper 😈 contrary to what the “silence brand” comments might tell you users actually like when brands jump on trends (sponsored contentttt) butttt that doesn’t mean you should try every trending audio or capcut template that comes along if you work in social, you probably have a pretty strong cringe-ometer telling you which trends to avoid. but if you need a second vibe check, social listening tools can help. these tools that used to be only for tracking negative/positive mentions of your brand, are now being used for much more. I read in Hootsuite's Social Media Trends 2025 Report, that SMMs are now using social listening to understand what’s trending, and almost a third of social marketers have switched up their content specifically to participate in these viral moments. if you play it right, these same tools can be used to explore the conversations happening naturally amongst your audience, and maybe even help you develop a framework for which trends to jump on and which to leave be. you know i love a framework. social listening has helped me unlock not only really niche ways users interact with the brands i’ve worked for, but understand the convos happening naturally in the communities we’re targeting- i’m glad this practice is becoming more commonplace !! ^ plus, maybe you can use this as a comeback for the dreaded “why didn’t we do anything w this trend” message. read Hootsuite’s full trends report for more juicy stats: https://ow.ly/XJMh50Uav3

Going viral (as we know it) is DEAD 😳 (ad) I remember the days when “going viral” was the ultimate goal for so many marketers. But numbers don’t always mean connection. In 2025, I believe virality will look different. We’re entering an era of micro-virality - where the goal is to reach the right people, not just more people. Brands are focusing on building connections with those who genuinely care about what they’re doing. Social listening plays a huge role in this. This shift means fewer brands blindly jumping on mainstream trends and more focusing on what resonates with their specific community 🥰 Recently, I started paying closer attention to the conversations our community is having - their needs, frustrations, and aspirations. That’s where the magic happens. It’s not about chasing every trend but understanding where your audience is coming from and creating content that speaks directly to them. If you're ready to redefine what viral means in 2025 you're going to want to read Hootsuite's Social Media Trends 2025 Report 👉 https://ow.ly/41EU50Uav1r

8+ years working in marketing has taught me one thing… [ad] You can’t afford to bore your audience! Being dull and risk averse isn’t just costing you attention, it’s costing you money: → Missed opportunities for virality among your audience You need to be bold and innovative to drive real interest → No emotional connection You need to show personality and evoke emotion; emotion sells → Low engagement = low reach You need to spark conversations and engage your target audience → Failing to stop the scroll You need to push creative boundaries and aim to leave a lasting impact → Diminished brand loyalty You need to be relatable—it creates brand advocates and builds community According to Hootsuite’s ‘Social Media Trends 2025 Report,’ more brands are realising this and are daring to push creative boundaries like never before. And it’s about bloody time! It’s never been more important for brands and creators to stop playing it safe. We’re so used to being told ‘No,’ by our clients and bosses, but you need to push for that creative freedom and let the ROI speak for itself. Remember: people don’t want to be sold to, they want to be entertained. Metrics like impressions, views, and likes might not be your end goal, but they serve a purpose. Tracking them can show if your content is reaching people and resonating with your target audience. When it does, that engagement can drive real growth. In social-first marketing, you have to be adventurous and take risks. You also have to be: a disruptor, a calculated troublemaker and a person/brand who’s not afraid of failure. Remember that you won’t know where the line is until you cross it, so make consciously bold decisions. Social media is basically your playground. You should be having fun with it and allowing your audience to have fun too. Here’s my mini blueprint: Ideate > Experiment > Look at the data > Re-strategise > Repeat Always start with a creative idea, pivot and develop a strategy to get better over time. It always starts with one idea, and the bravery to bring that idea to life I would 100% recommend reading Hootsuite’s report if you need any encouragement to set your creative bar higher: https://ow.ly/BMUr50UauZy It explores creative risk taking as a 2025 marketing trend, diving into what the most successful brands are doing and why it’s effective. (With lots of fab tips that can inform your social strategy!) - P.s. what’s a disruptive marketing campaign you find most unforgettable?! #Hootsuite #HootsuitePartner

If you’re wondering why your social media posts are falling on deaf ears, I’ve got a 𝘩𝘢𝘤𝘬 for you [AD - 🤫 I’ve never shared this before] It’s a very specific social media reach & growth hack that we use every time we launch a new podcast. & It’s one of the secrets behind our new shows hitting millions of views within weeks and immediately going to no.1 in all the charts. It’s called 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 - Let me explain 👇🏼 📝 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭? - You need to step into the right conversations on other pages and make genuine connections in the comment sections, where the communities that you want to reach and engage with are ALREADY existing and thriving. 👀 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞? When we launched our podcasts, we knew we’d need to do more than just posting on our own channels. We started by thoughtfully engaging in relevant pages comment sections, responding to creators, and adding to conversations that aligned with our podcast themes. 🔐 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲? Timely, meaningful comments that resonated. And it worked - audiences from these communities didn’t just notice; they engaged, followed, and shared. The reason I’m letting this out the gates today? Because Hootsuite picked up on it in their Social Media Trends 2025 report - and now I can shout about it from the rooftops. The report reveals that brands tapping into these spaces are seeing real results, especially with Gen Z. Which I can certainly attest to! The days of “𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘨𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘮 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨” are over. It’s no longer enough to create great content and wait for followers to find it. Real growth happens in the extra steps - in what we call the growth and engagement hacks. If you want more valuable insights like this, you’re going to want to read the FULL report to get all the advice and actions that’ll help your brand THRIVE in 2025 👉🏼 https://ow.ly/ErZ850UauVw Any questions, let me know below.
