Offering services that challenge stigmas surrounding poverty and allow our members to maintain their dignity and choice.
About us
Hope House operates and advocates on the belief that poverty, food insecurity, inequality, health and community are all interconnected. We offer services and programs that challenge the stigmas surrounding poverty and allow our clients to maintain their dignity and choice, while simultaneously providing them with tactile skills developed in a community environment; it is not about a hand-out but rather offering people a hand-up, creating long-term skills that facilitate self-sufficiency. HOPE House provides front-line services and support in the form of a choice-based, points-based Food Market, HOPE Stylin’ Haircuts and Clothing Bureau (points-based), our community Edu-Kitchen, HOPE-in-Motion, a Back-to-School Backpack Program, a daily Café, Christmas hampers and more to any Guelph resident (including children) living in poverty. We have also formed close partnerships with community members to offer services beyond our mandate in partnership with like-minded groups. This includes the Run and Read Program (Start2Finish), the Cadence Program (Upper Grand District School Board), Five Star Relationship Counseling, The John Howard Society, AA, Celebrate Recovery and many more.

The CAMP team works to meet the reproductive needs of people experiencing barriers to health, including people who are: newcomers, racialized, experiencing poverty, underhoused, using substances, and experiencing complex mental health needs. We provide care that meets people where they are, supports their autonomy and dignity, and is culturally appropriate. We apply the principles of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and anti-oppression in all we do. Everyone is welcome at CAMP! Our team is made up of four midwives providing accessible pregnancy and reproductive care in the community. We provide 24-hour on-call care for clients. The services we provide come at no cost to clients residing in Ontario. Join us on January 27th in the Hope House Cafe to learn more! #CAMPmidwifery #HopeHouseGuelph

Thank you Gordon Food Service for the donation of turkeys in time for the holidays! Over 500kg of turkeys were distributed to the Guelph Community mainly through the Senior's Markets we run in subsidized buildings. It made many of our senior friends very merry! #HopeHouseGuelph @GordonFoodServiceGuelph
