Beth McMahon joined other national leaders at 2024 Tourism Industry Association of Canada Tourism Congress to talk about strengthening Canada's global position. The panel covered workforce, data, brand, and product development. A key takeaway was the immense potential of our industry.
At this week’s record-breaking Canadian Tourism Congress, there was such a wonderful cross-section of the tourism industry, with attendees from St. Johns NL to Yellowknife NT to Powell River BC. Their stories were inspiring, cautionary, humorous, and left me incredibly optimistic for the continued growth (and economic impact) of this vibrant sector. Some standout moments: 🥇Reliving keynote Jon Montgomery’s Olympic gold medal moment > and his reflection on how just a one-degree course change in life’s trajectory can make a huge difference 👏🏼The raw emotion at the Canadian Tourism Awards — recipients were genuinely surprised and several close to tears with the honour, it was very moving and spoke to me about the closeknit family that is tourism. Congratulations all: https://lnkd.in/g2yXmvMX 🎤Participating on a national panel discussing Canada’s tourism competitiveness with my esteemed colleagues Keith Henry ( Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), KELLY HIGGINSON (Restaurants Canada), Marsha Walden (Destination Canada), Philip Mondor (Tourism HR Canada), Christine Loth-Bown (Parks Canada) & Beth Potter (Tourism Industry Association of Canada). 🤝Connecting with the Parliamentary Tourism Caucus members in attendance — thank you Senator Karen Sorensen, and MPs Blake Richards and Patrick Weiler for your dedicated support! Congratulations to Beth Potter & the Tourism Industry Association of Canada Team, the Wall Centre Vancouver, and all speakers, partners, and contributors to the success of #TIACCongress2024. Looking forward to 2025 in Gatineau’s Hilton Lac-Leamy!
