Today is #GivingTuesday which was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. We would love you to connect with us, like/follow our social media and donate anything you can to help us to continue to help our students and families. Every dollar donated goes towards providing basic needs for our most vulnerable students and families. Thank you to @JannArden for creating this video in support of our #GivingTuesday campaign: https://lnkd.in/gJEJmVk7 #GivingTuesdayCa #spreadthelove #grateful #thankyou

We are absolutely honoured to have received the Online Learning Consortium's award for Excellence in Faculty Development at this year's conference in Orlando, Florida. 🎉 We were the only K-12 school to receive an award at this conference, and the only Canadian school as well! Our work in ensuring our staff are trained in trauma-informed practice, project-based learning, and virtues training are but a few of our focus areas since we started as a school a little over three years ago. So proud of our staff and difference this work is making in the lives of our students! 👍 😊 #ignitecentreforelearning #olc #onlinelearningconsortium #thevirtuesproject #vtra #siva #traumainformedpractice #pbl #projectbasedlearning

🌺 Lest We Forget Today, on Remembrance Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. Their courage and dedication have shaped the freedoms we cherish.🕊️ At Ignite Centre for eLearning, we reflect on the importance of remembrance and the power of education in ensuring their legacy lives on. 🌟 We are grateful for veterans like Sharnee Trafford, who shares a story about the significance on the poppy on this important day: https://lnkd.in/gpkZm8pj 🙏 Thank you for your service. #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget #HonourAndRemember #Canada #Veterans #ThankYouForYourService #NeverForgotten #ignitecentreforelearning

Our students would be thrilled for any donations to this month's bottle/electronics drive, in partnership with @skipthedepot! Proceeds from the drive will continue to support students and families in need. AND, Dr. Daylene has challenged student teams in grades 1 to 12; the winning team will decide if she will be assigned anything from shaving her head (yes, it's true!) to making a live music video (and other silly things!). Support our Students by donating a bag or two, as well as your defunct electronics. https://lnkd.in/e8kkstTf Here's a wee vid from our recent school Great Gathering - 100 students in attendance online! https://buff.ly/4gTsoiZ Donations for our bottle drive can also be made directly through our donation page: https://buff.ly/4867SXt Our students and families thank you for your support! #supportignitestudents #love #care #empathy #compassion #supportourstudents #helptheenvironment #reducereuserecycle #thankyou #grateful

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Elder Gilman Cardinal, who was a tremendous supporter of our school, Ignite Centre for eLearning. At the same time, we are incredibly grateful for his teachings, blessings, and wisdom he shared with our students, families, and staff. I will be forever grateful for his friendship, and for his sense of humour; Jules (our school mascot) and Gilman had a special bond (it was no mistake when he "accidentally" dropped a bit of pastry on the floor when we visited him). Gilman was generous with his time and teachings, and insisted that we share his teachings "always moving forward" in relationship and in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation. We had fun together recording his videos, and I couldn't have been more surprised with he gave me the honour of an Eagle Feather he had so carefully encased in a shadow box for me. We recorded a video of the importance of the Eagle Feather - it was such an honour: https://buff.ly/3MctcRK To continue his legacy, please feel free to access any/all of the videos we created together in the spirit of "always moving forward", as he had wanted: https://buff.ly/46KVQ69 The Smudge Ceremony and Eagle Feather teaching may be helpful for teachers in classrooms, or anyone, really. Please just credit Gilman for the work; his family would appreciate it. Rest peacefully, My Friend. With gratitude, Daylene Lauman
