Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Testing, and Survey firm with operations across Canada.
About us
Since 2012, Inline has provided industrial and infrastructure clients with a value proposition that encompasses the best of both worlds – the competitiveness and flexibility of a smaller firm, but the processes, expertise, and services of a larger firm, derived from years of executing on Canada’s largest projects. Inline’s engineering group encompasses geotechnical engineers that support a broad range of municipal, transportation, land development, and industrial infrastructure projects. We dually provide surveying and materials testing, which includes a fleet of UAV's and 3D scanners, and nine material testing labs - two permanent CCIL labs in Edmonton and Fort McMurray, and seven mobile labs. It is the combination of our services that provide our clients with a one-stop-shop solution. Our core values – Productive and Hardworking, Personable, Humble, Professional, and Adaptable – are represented every day by our 200+ team members. We’ve grown with these values, hire with these values, and our clients have come to expect, and appreciate, our commitment to these values. It is our people that champion these behaviors, and they are the Inline difference. We believe companies have a greater purpose than profit; we are committed to creating positive impacts on each team member and investing in the communities we work within. Inline is proud to support many Indigenous communities across Canada with social initiatives and work to create long-term prosperity through our Joint Ventures.

At Inline, we are leading the construction industry with advanced survey, materials testing, and engineering services. As industry standards evolve, we recognize the essential role that accurate data and high-quality solutions play in ensuring project success and safety. Recent trends highlight the increasing use of drones for aerial surveying and monitoring, which have shown immense improvements in productivity, efficiency, and safety. By integrating drone technology and our 3D scanning capabilities, we can create digital representations of physical objects, enabling comprehensive management, analysis, and fit-to-field design. This virtual design approach provides a comprehensive view of the work area, capturing every detail to reduce human error, avoid costly delays, and enhance on-site safety by minimizing the need for boots-on-the-ground. This innovative solution minimizes cost and the risk of reworks by allowing builders to first construct structures in a virtual environment. Research trends also indicate that advanced software is boosting productivity across the industry. That is why our geotechnical department is adopting a user-friendly software solution that unifies project workflows, enables real-time reporting, and streamlines communication. This cloud-based program allows our technicians to complete reports from anywhere, ensuring seamless operations on all job sites and enhancing scheduling, reporting, invoicing, and quality control. Our commitment to innovation is fueled by ongoing research and valuable feedback from our dedicated team and clients. Together, we’re building a smarter, safer future. #InlineGroup #OneInline #DroneTechnology #Surveying #MaterialsTesting #InnovationInIndustry

Our team of volunteers, along with a group from Burns & McDonnell and Engineers In Action (EIA), just completed the construction of a 76m footbridge in the rural agricultural community of Tuyo Tuyo, Bolivia! Isolation caused by impassable rivers is a root source of poverty all over the world, and EIA is working tirelessly to change that. For over 150 days in a year, the Tuyo Tuyo river can flood dramatically, becoming difficult or impossible to cross. Children frequently miss class, and the pregnant and elderly may be unable to access much needed health care. The working population often cannot access their land in order to farm, or may see harvests rot before they can be transported to market, while workers are simultaneously unable to travel in search of other opportunities. This footbridge will provide safer and easier access for locals, especially during the rainy season, connecting families, schools, and essential services. A huge shoutout to our dedicated community members, masons, volunteers, and everyone involved in making this project a reality! Your hard work and determination are truly transforming lives. See the bridge progress in the photos below! Contact EIA to get involved or support the next bridge build today: https://lnkd.in/e3FBK3_A #InlineGroup #OneInline #EngineersInAction #Engineering #EmpoweringCommunities

The Blackwater Gold mine project consists of the extraction of gold and silver, along with ore processing facilities that have a milling rate capacity of 60,000 tonnes per day, over a mine life of 17 years. Located in central B.C., south of Vanderhoof, the project represents one of the most significant capital investments in the Bulkley-Nechako, Fraser-Fort George and Cariboo regions of B.C. in the last decade. Due to its remote location, our dedicated crews must make a three-hour commute along logging roads each shift turnaround to reach the camp from Prince George. At the start of the project in 2022, Inline was contracted by the mine's owner, Artemis Gold Inc., to complete bush flagging for the mine boundary tree-clearing scope. Given the secluded environment, snowmobiles were utilized, allowing us to apply our safety training to navigate the challenging terrain. Throughout the project, our top priorities remained safety and environmental stewardship. In the early phase of the project, we also provided Plate Load Testing services to McElhanney. This enabled our engineers to calculate the soil's bearing capacity – the maximum load the soil can support without experiencing shear failure or excessive settlement – information that is essential for foundation design. Inline has been contracted by several other companies throughout the course of construction of Blackwater Gold to offer survey services on their civil and concrete scopes, supporting the development of processing infrastructure for the mine. #InlineGroup #OneInline #ProjectSpotlight #Mining #Survey #MaterialTesting #GeotechnicalEngineering

We're excited to congratulate our October Employee of the Month, Justin Cotie! Just last week, we celebrated Justin for earning the FH Cares Safety Award, and it's clear his exceptional efforts extend far beyond safety alone! With over a decade of industry experience since 2012, Justin may be relatively new to Inline, but his impact has been undeniable. He exemplifies our core values and was nominated for being Humble, Productive, and Hardworking. Omer Tariq Mohamed Babiker shares, "Cotie has shown that Inline employees are always task focused, putting safety first, and getting the job done--always going the extra mile even when it isn't required." Outside of work, Justin enjoys traveling, good food, and going to Red Sox games with the family. What he enjoys the most about Inline is the fantastic team of experienced, hardworking individuals who make coming to work easy. Congrats Justin! We're honoured to have you representing the Inline team. #InlineGroup #OneInline #EmployeeSpotlight #EmployeeOfTheMonth

Today, we pause to honor and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Remembrance Day is a time to reflect on the courage, resilience, and dedication of the men and women who have defended our freedoms. We wear our poppies proudly as a symbol of their memory and our gratitude. This year, we would like to highlight one of our own team members, Steve Laforge, who served for 22 years with the Canadian Armed Forces, reaching the rank of Master Warrant Officer. As a Combat Engineer, Steve led soldiers into combat during four international missions, including deployments to the Balkans and two tours in Afghanistan. His commitment and leadership were recognized when he was awarded the Member Military Merit for exemplary service during his 2009 tour in Afghanistan. At Inline, we extend our deepest gratitude to all veterans, current service members, and their families for their sacrifices. This Remembrance Day, may we all take a moment to reflect, respect, and be inspired by the legacy of service, courage, and commitment exemplified by others like Steve. Lest we forget. #InlineGroup #OneInline #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget
