We recently came across this article about the rise and fall of Moutai Ice Cream, China's famous liquor ice cream. The company, launched in 2022 with almost 2% alcohol-infused ice cream, collaborated in 2023 with the coffee chain Luckin. Soon after, a Moutai-flavored latte was launched. On its first day of sales, 5.42 million cups were sold, bringing in USD 13.6 million! But the brand recently announced closures of most stores, including some of its online outlets.
