📣 Accelerate-Accélérer has unveiled a comprehensive Battery Innovation Roadmap to position Canada as a global leader in battery technology by 2035🔋. The roadmap outlines strategies to foster and support innovative battery firms, ensuring they grow and remain in Canada while creating a skilled workforce to capture more value within the domestic economy. Key highlights include: -$3 billion investment in battery innovation -Establishment of a National Battery Alliance -Training over 10,000 skilled professionals by 2035 -Developing a robust IP strategy and promoting international collaboration Accelerate also developed an interactive comprehensive roadmap designed to navigate key battery innovation policies. The federal government released their Green Buildings Strategy today, which recognizes that green buildings are affordable, healthy, and climate-resilient. It also states we need to increase the rate of building retrofits to 3% a year and that investing billions in green buildings is required and an economic opportunity. Yet, to deliver on this promising future, the strategy needs to include new public investments or clear regulatory pathways. Read a breakdown of the strategy and our response below.
