Observed annually on December 17, this day brings attention to the violence, discrimination, and criminalization that sex workers face worldwide. Beyond physical violence, systemic harm rooted in stigma, harmful policies, and societal attitudes continues to affect those in the sex work community. Manitoba Substance Use and Addictions Awareness Week: Nov. 24-30 The theme for 2024, Forging Connections, highlights the power of coming together, sharing our experiences, and utilizing proven strategies to address the challenges of substance use and addiction. This week provides an important opportunity for Manitobans to learn about harm reduction, prevention, treatment, and recovery, while exploring ways to create lasting change for those affected by substance use. At Life's Journey, one of the key goals in our strategic plan is to strengthen community partnerships that enhance access to services and support for individuals impacted by addiction. We are also dedicated to offering programs that support recovery and continually reviewing our Addictions Model of Practice to ensure it evolves alongside the needs of those we serve.
