Marine Renewables Canada is the country’s wave, tidal, river current, and offshore wind association representing technology and project developers, utilities, researchers, and the energy and marine supply chain. Since 2004, the organization has worked to identify and foster collaborative opportunities, provide information and education, and represent the best interests of the sector to advance the development of a marine renewable energy industry in Canada that can be globally competitive. Our Vision is for a Canadian sustainable marine renewable energy sector, serving domestic and export power needs and providing projects, technologies and expertise in a global market. Our focus is across Canada to support the marine energy developments in Canada’s rivers, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Day 2 of #MRC2024 is off to an exciting start! Our keynote lunch is featuring Denise Pothier, Chief Operating Officer at the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business. She’s sharing insights on building respectful, mutually beneficial business relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses and improving Indigenous participation in the country’s economy, a topic that is very timely as our sector works to advance #MarineRenewableEnergy projects and ensure inclusivity and meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities and businesses.
