𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲? 😲 Last month at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Regional Conference in Bonita Springs, FL, MedMe's Co-Founder & CEO, Purya Sarmadi, and Clinical Product Lead, Taher Rehmanji, joined industry leaders to tackle key challenges facing US pharmacies. An ongoing discussion topic at the conference was the 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 and 𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 making it more crucial than ever for pharmacies to diversify revenue streams by offering clinical services. However, a key barrier remaining is 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Many pharmacies want to expand into clinical services but struggle with administrative burden. That’s where MedMe comes in! Our platform streamlines clinical documentation, making it easier for pharmacies to grow without added paperwork and stress. Our team had the pleasure of hosting a dinner with industry peers—reconnecting with familiar faces and building new connections. Huge thanks to Alicia Matthews-Kent and the Neighbourly Pharmacy team for joining us for this event. We greatly appreciate their insights as MedMe users, and it's always a pleasure to connect with our valued partners in person. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲?💡💬

🌍🎗️ 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆: 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 🎗️🌍 On February 4, we come together to honour the millions of people affected by cancer worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, between 𝟯𝟬-𝟱𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, early detection, and supporting patients along their cancer journey. Here’s a list of ways that pharmacists are promoting cancer prevention and treatment: - 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: Tobacco is the leading preventable cause of cancer. Pharmacists can provide evidence-based strategies, such as nicotine-replacement therapy, and in some regions, prescribe medications, to help patients quit smoking. - 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Excess body weight, unhealthy diet, alcohol consumption are all modifiable risk factors for cancer. Pharmacists can provide expert advice on how to make informed lifestyle choices to lower cancer risk. - 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗛𝗣𝗩, 𝗵𝗲𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘀): Pharmacists in certain jurisdictions can prescribe and/or administer vaccines to help prevent virus-related cancers such as cervical and liver cancer. They also play a key role in educating patients about vaccine importance, addressing concerns, and improving vaccination rates in the community. - 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝘀𝗲: Pharmacists can help patients and family members along their cancer journey by ensuring proper use of chemotherapy and supportive care medications. They also offer emotional support, answering questions and addressing concerns to help patients feel more informed and empowered throughout their treatment. Today, let’s come together and take action to change the future of cancer for generations to come! #WorldCancerDay #CancerPrevention #CancerAwareness #PharmacistsInCancerCare #PreventionMatters

𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵🎗️ - a time to highlight the importance of preventing cervical cancer and promote health education. Cervical cancer is largely preventable, with vaccines like the HPV vaccine playing a vital role. According to the WHO, nearly 90% of cervical cancer cases are linked to high-risk HPV strains, which vaccines can effectively prevent. Pharmacists are at the forefront of this effort, offering education, vaccine administration, and guidance on cervical cancer prevention. At MedMe, pharmacists actively contribute to cervical health by offering HPV vaccinations and counselling on the importance of regular check-ups where available. Regional regulations allow pharmacists to prescribe and administer vaccines in provinces like PEI and Saskatchewan, increasing accessibility for patients. With streamlined booking systems and tailored appointments, MedMe helps patients take proactive steps toward reducing their cancer risk. Book an appointment with your pharmacist today to discuss cervical cancer prevention and the HPV vaccine. By taking charge of your health now, you can significantly lower your risk and contribute to a future free from cervical cancer! #cervicalhealth #cervicalhealthawarenessmonth #pharmacy #hpv #cervicalcancer
