Canadians can’t afford another labour disruption impacting our critical infrastructure. Together with more than 115 industry associations, chambers of commerce, and boards of trade across the country, we’ve sent a letter to the Ministers of Labour and Transport to voice our concerns. Our message is clear: The ripple effects of labour disruptions across Canada’s ports this year are being felt across the economy, are negatively impacting Canadian consumers, workers, and businesses, while also tarnishing Canada’s global reputation as a reliable trading partner and stable place to do business. We cannot allow this to continue. It’s time for the federal government to take decisive action, using every tool at its disposal to end this disruption and mitigate the damage.
