Meet Andrea (she/her), Senior Manager, Ontario. Andrea holds a PhD in Laboratory Medicine from the University of Toronto and has over 10 years of experience in academic research, including developing diagnostic test for rhinoviruses and influenza viruses. After a postdoctoral fellowship left her feeling burn out, she sought a career with better work-life balance and joined MNP in 2022. Since joining MNP, Andrea has been able to build on her vast experience through internal projects and training programs while still being able to pursue her passions outside of work. Andrea says: “I appreciate that MNP offers flexibility to work from home. It allows me to manage my schedule so that I can spend the day working alongside my parrots (two Green Cheek Conures) and have more time for my creative outlets, like nail art. But more importantly, MNP offers courses through MNP University so I can balance out my skill set and reach my career goals, like being promoted to Senior Manager in 2024. While I may be out of the lab, my work will provide much-needed money to fund scientific initiatives!” Enabling a balanced lifestyle is one of the ways MNP helps our team members live their best lives.
