An Update: Building A More Sustainable Future 🚗🌱 In the last few years, you may have noticed that we’ve gradually added electric vehicles (EVs) to our fleet. In 2025, we’ll take this a step further, making 1 in 5 Modo vehicles electric with the addition of 60 new EVs.   Over time, this transition to an electric fleet is central to our ongoing effort to reduce our collective reliance on gas-powered vehicles. 🌎 To support this journey, we’re adjusting our Co-op Innovation fee starting January 1, 2025: ➡️ For gas-powered or hybrid cars, the fee will be $3 per trip. ⛽️ ➡️ For electric vehicles, the fee will be reduced to $1 per trip. ⚡️   This adjustment represents less than a 4% increase for typical gas-powered trips, while EV trips will see a 2.6% decrease. For those in cities with reliable public transit or walkable neighbourhoods, carsharing bridges the gap for occasional trips, empowering more households to allocate funds toward mortgages or rent. Is carsharing on the rise? 🚗 New data from INVERS’ Mobility Barometer shows a 14% growth in carsharing fleets across Europe since 2023, led by Germany with the largest number of free-floating (round trip) and station-based (one-way) vehicles. This growth reflects an increasing shift toward flexible, shared mobility as a sustainable way to get around. 🚍 An Inspiring Shared Mobility Initiative Happening South of the Border! Electric school buses are gaining traction as a clean and efficient solution for student transportation. The Forth Mobility initiative, leading Oregon’s first diesel-to-electric school bus repower, showcases the numerous benefits of this transition, including reduced costs, shorter lead time on fleet electrification, and stronger community connectivity. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, this initiative marks a significant step toward cleaner, more sustainable school transportation.
