Adventure, Connection, and Shared Mobility in Action! 🚲🛳️🚗⛴️ Our movmi team recently had an incredible day trip to the Sunshine Coast, B.C. showcasing the magic of multimodal transportation and shared mobility! Here’s how we got there: 🚲 Vancouver Bike Share aka Mobi by Rogers to Waterfront station 🛳️ TransLink Seabus to North Vancouver 🚗 Lyft ridehail to Horseshoe Bay ⛴️ BC Ferries to the Sunshine Coast (We also made our way back from Horseshoe bay to Lonsdale Quay later in the day by TransLink bus! 🚍) The day wasn’t just about the journey though —it was about enjoying a delicious lunch with team members and having a chance to catch up in person! And, thankfully, the Sunshine Coast really lived up to it's name that day! ☀️ #SharedMobility #MultimodalTransportation #TeamDay #SustainabilityInAction #movmiJourney #TeamDay #MeetTheTeam Venkatesh Gopal Antonio Loro Michael Glotz-Richter Aoife Rafferty Anders Bergman

Shared mobility is reshaping personal transportation choices—and the data proves it. 🚴♀️🚗 📊 10% of bikeshare users reported that access to bikeshare led them to delay purchasing a household vehicle, while 3% even sold or got rid of their car entirely thanks to bikeshare. 📊 Round-trip carsharing can replace 9 to 13 private vehicles, reducing the need for parking and opening up urban spaces for economic activities and alternative transportation options. Our CEO, Venkatesh Gopal, reflected on the importance of integrating shared mobility into communities in this latest article featured on TheFutureEconomy.ca. 💡 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/g6SzcPDk #SharedMobility #SustainableTransport #UrbanMobility #Micromobility #SmartCities #FutureOfMobility #SustainableCities #MobilityInnovation #TransportationEquity #ClimateAction #TheFutureEconomy #WorldSustainableTransportDay #MobilityInsights

Traffic congestion and pollution are no strangers to our cities, but there's a growing movement that’s lighting the path toward a greener future: local advocacy groups and community initiatives. From the BC Cycling Coalition’s groundbreaking Safe Passing laws to Island Pathways’ nearly $1M investment in community pathways, these efforts prove that sustainable transport starts with grassroots leadership. 💡 This week on the movmi blog, we highlight the pivotal role of advocacy groups such as: ➡️ TRAC: Transforming the Sunshine Coast with safe and inclusive mobility projects. ➡️ Our Community Bikes: Dedicated to promoting cycling in Vancouver through education, access, and community engagement. ➡️ BEST mobility: Developing innovative programs to promote mobility justice by removing barriers to active, low-carbon, and green transportation options. 🔗 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ebXQ8dWs What grassroot organizations are shaping sustainable transport in your city? ✈️Back from visiting Montreal. One of the beautiful cities tackling growth, sustainability goals and finding ways to navigate existing and future mobility challenges. 4 back-to-back conference days🤓 . 2 events covering both physical🌎 and digital🌐 perspectives of mobility. Both aimed at making shared mobility work for cities. Loved diving into conversations to explore answers to questions such as, 💡What would it take to make #carsharing a default part of the mobility ecosystem for any city? 💡How does data sharing and visibility help drive usage, modeshift and of course service growth? 💡Where should we go trick-or-treating🎃? ...umm right that was just my question😋 Talks, networking, Montreal at night using BIXI-Montréal (thanks Neal!). Left me feeling I was home😍🙏. Thanks to Pam Cooley and Heili Toome for the invite. Above all, no city is perfect, but I was left impressed with the grit and passion of folks involved to make mobility offerings better in the city. Marianne Giguère, Marco Viviani, Charles de la Chevrotière, Ariane Levesque, LGBSS, Zvi Leve, MSc, Neal P. and more.
