  • “Over the years, many of our franchisees have been touched by MS in some way, including myself when I was diagnosed in 2003. After participating in my first MS Walk in 2004, we decided we could fundraise even more through our Student Works Painting campaign. We wanted to show our support for the MS community, so we jumped on board in 2005, starting our own campaign in the West with franchisees donating $5 from each job, which is matched by the company. We also collect donations from clients and match them up to $20,000 each year! Every spring, we provide around 250 students with hands-on paint training. MS Canada helps connect us with people living with MS who need their house painted in the cities we run our training. It’s the perfect opportunity to help others. It’s so satisfying to see a project completed and our staff witness the impact they have firsthand. I’ve made many connections in the MS community over the years, and I'm very proud to know we’ve had a direct impact helping those who’ve been touched by this disease!” - Lianne, lives with MS, Director, Student Works Painting West Together, Student Works Painting West and East have raised over $2.4M for Canadians affected by MS. We’re so grateful for their support ❤️. If your home needs a little paint refresh, visit studentworks.ca to see if they’re in your area! #MultipleSclerosis #MS

  • On International Volunteer Day, we’re celebrating 17-year-old Marley, whose passion for volunteering was sparked at a young age. “My mom’s the reason I volunteer. I started helping at MS Walk and MS Bike events in 2022, setting up and greeting guests. It’s taught me a lot about giving back.” Inspired by his mom’s journey with MS, Marley’s committed to raising awareness and funds for the MS community. “Volunteering helps me give back to my mom. MS affects everyone around her, and by supporting MS Canada, I’m making a difference for her and others affected by MS. My brother and I hope to raise at least $10,000 every year to support the MS community. Volunteering has brought my family closer, and I know it can do the same for others." Beyond his involvement in the MS community, Marley, along with his friends, also supports CancerCare Manitoba, Grace Hospital, and his school’s Snow Angel program, shoveling sidewalks and driveways in his neighbourhood. Marley was recently awarded the Winnipeg 150 Medal, a distinction for residents who have made significant contributions to the community. “I’m honoured to receive the Winnipeg 150 Medal. Only 150 Winnipeggers were awarded, and trees were even planted in our names in a city park.” Marley hopes his story will inspire other youth to get involved too, "Find a cause you care about and invite friends to join. Volunteering with friends makes it memorable, fun, and rewarding. Together we can make a difference!” Please join us in thanking Marley for everything he does to support his mom and community. His compassion and dedication for helping others is inspiring and we’re proud he’s part of the MS community! #InternationalVolunteerDay #MultipleSclerosis #MS

  • “There’s always a level of uncertainty in my life. I try to push through as best I can, despite what MS throws my way. I would love to hear that no one else will be diagnosed with MS or that we’re able to halt disease progression. That would change my life, I wouldn’t have to wonder what my future’s going to look like. It’s important for Canadians to donate to the MS community so we can work towards a world without MS. There are brilliant minds working towards finding a cure, but without research dollars, there’s no work to be done.” - Molly, diagnosed in 2010 Your support allows us to fund critical research, support programs, and advocacy efforts, giving hope to Molly and the over 90,000 Canadians living with MS. Today, your gift will be TRIPLED (up to a total of $50,000) thanks to a generous group of donors ♥️. With Giving Tuesday falling on International Day of Persons with Disabilities this year, your gift is even more meaningful.
